Workshop by Haidei
We build systems that survive contact with reality. Complex, ambiguous, high-stakes problems - turned into things that work. The tools change. The discipline doesn't.
Bring an idea - the workshop sketches a first design and structure in return (drafted by AI, read by Nick).
The whole before the parts
Every system fails at its seams. We hold the full picture - people, process, technology - so the pieces fit before they're built.
Ambiguity is the raw material
Clear problems are already solved. Our work starts where the problem is still a feeling - and ends when it's running software.
Judgment over noise
Technologies rotate. Hype cycles pass. What compounds is taste, discernment, and the record of things that shipped.
Current focus
Building at the intersection of applied AI and enterprise systems.
Domains
A decade in software · public sector · fintech · supply chain · data security.
The Workshop
A workshop, not an agency. A master, a dragonet at the desk, and trusted hands who join when the build calls for them. Small on purpose - every system gets the founder's eyes.
The Founder
Nick Haidei. Builder of systems for a decade - public sector, fintech, supply chains, data security. He starts where the problem is still a feeling, and stays until it runs without him. LinkedIn.
Selected work
Petr Maltsev - digital exhibition. A museum for a painter's life work - the full catalogue of canvases, three languages, museum-grade presentation. Designed and built end-to-end by the workshop. petrmaltsev.art.
TryOn - AI Outfit Planner (iOS). Virtual try-on and a digital wardrobe. Upload a photo, try the look, keep the closet organized. Live on the App Store. Co-founded. tryon.llc.
Technology
The CBA Engine - our own reasoning machine for business analysis. Ideas go in; they get argued over by a court of critics, checked against a frozen verifier, and come out with full provenance - every conclusion knows where it came from. Proprietary technology of the workshop.
The Process
Discovery - we find the real problem (you get: a problem map). 2-4 working sessions · stakeholder map · constraint register · risks named early.
Shape - the system on paper first (you get: a structure sheet). 2-3 options compared · decision note (ADR-style) · seams marked before any code.
Build - working software in short passes (you get: running increments). weekly increments · demo every friday · you can stop after any pass - it still runs.
Harden - contact with reality (you get: test evidence). load & failure drills · security pass · misuse scenarios · fixes fold back in.
Handover - your team runs it without us (you get: the runbook). docs + runbook · two training sessions · 30-day support window after the stamp.
